◈ CultureSchool · Founding Artist · Hohoe, Ghana
Palettes Winfred contributed to the CoCo library — extracted from his paintings, named for the places and moments that made them.
Prints generated from Winfred's palettes using the CoCo pattern system. His colors translated into geometric and pattern prints, made to order via Printful.
Winfred Nana Amoah is a Hohoe-based artist whose media of practice include plastics, textiles, used credit cards, research articles, newspapers, and acrylic on canvas. Amoah uses these materials to explore personal identities and community belonging, particularly in the contemporary Ghanaian context.
His series of mixed media depicts the faces of some of the Hohoe-dwelling people. The faces — as a universal concept — are a communicative event.
Winfred Nana Amoah is one of CultureSchool's first founding artists — a platform built on the belief that designs should look like the cultures they come from, made by people who live them.
